"Lockdown with no access to my local Y made me crave to have my own sauna. And I wanted a traditional Finnish one, like I had experienced on my travels there, where natural design reinforces the serenity of the experience. Visiting pre-fab outlets in the Toronto area, getting numerous quotes and designs, I still couldn’t source a local contractor who understood the aesthetics or logistics of this proposed project. Serendipity led me to information on Andrew Simonson’s architectural background, with an MA degree focusing on Finnish sauna design. This led me to Steam Hut in Saskatchewan. Communicating with both of them revealed Andrew’s design awareness and Quinn’s electrical expertise.  I knew these guys were on my wave-length. It seemed far-fetched to do a project with out of province contractors, but it all went totally seamlessly. Honest, hard working, enthusiastic and aesthetically sharp they were a pleasure to be around.  Arrived with all their necessary tools, sourced the rest locally, custom built a sauna in the porch of our house that is the perfect combination of form, function, simplicity and beauty, with traditional Finnish detailing like hand-charred cedar trim. Everyone who has seen it says WOW!  My husband also became a sauna convert and we now use it daily. But the most uncanny thing— they built it with such care that they embedded the space with this intangible positive energy.  We both feel this when we’re in it.  And I say WOW, we’re so glad we did this!"

Located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan this sauna was built off site and delivered into the client’s backyard with the help of a crane. Cedar is used throughout the interior and the exterior consists of LP SmartSide painted the clients choice. This sauna is perfect for a small family requiring a change room.

Rees Sauna

Location: Outlook, SK

Specs: 4’10” x 7’5” Sauna and 4’5” x 5’9” Change Room with 3” x 6’2” Covered Porch featuring a wood-burning heater.

Located on an acreage near Outlook, Saskatchewan this Steam Hut sauna is a perfect addition to this client’s backyard oasis. This sauna was built off-site and delivered ready to use. Cedar is used for the entire interior and a painted smart-board is used on the exterior. This sauna is ideal for 3-4 persons.

Selkirk Sauna

Location: Saskatoon, SK

Specs: 6’5” x 6’5” Sauna with 2’6” x 6’5” Covered Porch featuring an electric heater.

Located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan these clients not only wanted a small Steam Hut sauna but also something to brighten up their backyard, hence the bright blue exterior. With limited access to the backyard this sauna was built completely on site. This sauna is ideal for electric heaters and small backyard spaces.
